ACCI Commends TSTv Over Launch of Digital Service

The commercial launch of Telecom Satellite Television (TSTv) in Nigeria has excited the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) who describe the initiative as one that will further bring information, innovative ideas, goods and services closer to the generality of Nigerians.

A statement from the Chamber said its incoming President, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, CON, SAN was particularly impressed that the brains behind the brand are young vibrant enterprise minded Nigerians that have decided to bring the right content and premium product to satisfy the growing demand of Nigerians.

While commending the courage of the investor for coming from the Diaspora to invest in his country, he also Anoted that the initiator believes in the governmentas seriousness about diversifying the economy.

a?I am particularly impressed that this brand which has been long awaited is coming at a time that Nigeria is diversifying into the non-oil sector and actually tapping from the massive potentials inherently endowed in our people.

a?It is cheerful to us at the Chamber because the brain behind this giant stride is none other than Mr. Bright Echefu, whom I know, for a fact, has the capacity and capability to smoothly run this digital broadcast platform across the country and even beyond.

a?For the fact that it is affordable, has many interesting channels and a promise of strong signal, I therefore call on Nigerians to immediately go into it. The time has come for all of us to embrace what truly belongs to us and is home grown. Moreover, in the corporate world, competition drives better servicea?, he stated.

Prince Adetokunbo who was cabinet minister in four different portfolios namely: Defence, Labour and Productivity, Arts and Culture as well as Justice and Attorney General of the federation noted that, as TSTv introduces the Pay-as-You-Consume model, an option other providers had insisted was not possible, it means Nigerians have now found a truly indigenous digital broadcast alternative.

a?What has made the project fascinatingly unique is that it would start with 100 channels of local, regional and international programmes in major languages in the country with a blend of Ghanaian, Sierra Leonean, Liberian languages, among others.

a?At ACCI, our doors are wide open for all categories of genuine investors, inventors and service providers. We are proud to be associated with this laudable idea that will positively add value to the people by creating massive employment opportunities across the value chain.

a?We are not unaware that TSTv is here to provide the best products and services. We would suggest that everyone get their decoders and start enjoying incredible programmes cutting across sports, news, movies, documentaries, soap operas and othersa?, the legal luminary added.

He said the stride has also served as a clarion call to remind Nigerians that government alone could not do all things but needs the participation and synergy of the private sector.
