Dangote Group have been honoured with the prestigious platinum membership certificate by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
The group is the first to receive the certificate from the chamber.
Speaking at the event which took place on ‘Dangote Day’, at the just concluded Abuja international trade fair, the incoming President of the chamber, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN) described the group as one of the most diversified business conglomerates in Africa which stands tall and have continued to demonstrate that manufacturing in Nigeria is possible and profitable.
While felicitating with the group, on behalf of executive committee, council members, management, partners and members of the Chamber, he emphasized that the milestones covered by the group in production activities has made Nigeria self-sufficient and also earned foreign to the exchange economy.
“The Dangote Group has been pushing up the frontiers of innovation and capacity in the areas of industry and us adjudged for having reputation to shatter records and set new ones.
“The group has grown to become one of the largest manufacturing powerhouse in sub-Saharan Africa with quality and competitive products in sectors like construction, building and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FCMG”, Adetokunbo noted.
In his speech, the special guest and group’s executive in charge of customer development, Alhaji Garba El-Suleiman commended the chamber for giving companies, organisations and individuals opportunity to showcase their wares and demonstrate their latest products and services, and to examine market trends.
He announced that the objective of the group is to serve and satisfy the people and help Nigeria and indeed Africa to attain self-reliance and self-sufficiency in the production of the world’s most basic commodity and establish efficient production facilities in strategic locations and markets.
“Our participation in the fair is to showcase and create awareness on our products and services for the people in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to know what we are doing in the different sectors.
Products displayed at the Dangote stand include: Dangote flour, Dangote salt, Dangote sugar, DanQ seasoning, Dangote pasta excellente, Dangote cement, among others.
The 12th edition of the Abuja international trade fair is designed to promote innovation, manufacturing, industrialisation focusing on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), foster progressive interactions between producers and buyers as well as attract foreign investment to priority sectors of the economy.
In line with the economic plan of the federal government aimed at diversifying into non-oil sector, this year’s theme was tagged, “Returning Nigeria to the path of sufficiency through non-oil exports”.
