The Integrity Youth Alliance has called on Nigerians to ignore the statement credited to the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris want to implicate him and the Governor of Kwara State in the case of arrested Cultists in Kwara State.
In a press release by the National Coordinator of Integrity Youth Alliance, Kelvin Adegbenga, he said Saraki’s fears are not tenable and genuine.
“If Kwara State Ministry of Justice has advised on the case, they will be in possession of the duplicate case file and if there is any alteration in any of the statements, the State Ministry of Justice will know and will ask questions, Adegbenga said.
“This apart, the case is to be prosecuted by Kwara State Government because the offense was committed within their area of jurisdiction. If the Attorney General of Kwara State suspects any foul-play, he can enter nulle Proseque.
Adegbenga further reiterated that it is on record that the most notorious Kidnapper, Evans committed his crime in Lagos but was moved to Abuja for adequate security while his trial continues in Lagos.
“Once again, we called on the Senate President to stop playing politics with security issues as it portends serious danger to the security plans of the country, Adegbenga concluded.
