A Group, Service to Humanity Foundation, has chided the House of Representatives for passing a vote of no confidence on the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Kpotun Idris.
The National Coordinator of the Group, Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed, who spoke to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday said that, the IGP had lived above board in his efforts to find lasting solutions to the recurring security challenges in Benue state and other parts of the country.
Mohammed noted that, the Inspector General of Police had faithfully and religiously implemented the Presidential Directive on the Benue Crises.
He averred, “that was why he moved the entire machinery of the Force Headquarters to Makurdi, the Benue state capital and it worked.
“While there, Mr Ibrahim Idris, swung into action and met all the key stakeholders in the Benue Crises and stayed there to see to the plausible implementation of all the strategies and recommendations.”
The National Coordinator further averred that, the IGP has proved to be a detribalized Nigerian, as well as a committed, diligent and proactive Police Boss.
According to him, as the number one Police Officer in Nigeria, he takes the entire country as his duty post, as such, he is never selfish or sluggish, while he abhors nepotism.
Mohammed also added that, the IGP was a man of honor, who has been sustainably and strenuously being discharging his constitutional duty.
He further noted that, such laudable efforts of the IGP had since yielded myriad of positive results, with the bolstering of the security of lives and property across Nigeria.
Mohammed therefore advised the members of the House of Representatives to put national interest and the fear of God above all egocentric interests.
Doing so, he further noted, was to give honor to whom it is due, even as they have the right to oversee all affairs of the country.
The National Coordinator added that, the lawmakers should note and commend diligence, as well as advise on how to remedy the observed lapses.
