Yahaya Idris Toto said that specific attention should be given to Bassa in the two states of the federation, which are include: Kogi and Nasarawa, since the Bassa extraction had now become a burden and source of worried in this country.
The social cultural body of Egbira Youths spoke extensively on Thursday at Lafia, the State capital during an enlarge press briefings on the recent killings in Ugya, Katakpa, Ogba Patti and other places within Toto LG jurisdiction.
He said: “it is unprovoked killings, life is so sacred, you can’t kill people as if they are fowls, Egbira people are warriors; we prevailed on them no to go for retaliation and in which Bassa had taken that for granted.
The Bassa people now resort to telling all sort of lies, propaganda using media as an avenue to gain sympathy from government and unsuspecting sympathizers while they still go on with their usual clandestine motive by marshaling plans on how to kill people in the area particularly Egbira tribes.
” The way things are going, it can provoke national war and it will not help any parties.”
“This is a national problem; we don’t want our people to be continued to be killed, we must use wisdom to handle this problem.” It is very easy to say the hired red clouded Bassa bandits with an obvious insignia of systematic ways to annihilation all Egbiras sons and daughters must vacate Toto and it environ to allow peace reign.” But there is a lots of implications with the reasonable development raging and which led to recovered of sophisticated firearms (Weapons), apprehension of mercenaries terrorising the area and particularly the recent arrest of their spiritual leader Pa Angulu Idaku of Bassa extraction by Nigeria troops while on operation has indeed proved our innocence before the world.
The EYM also regretted that the agreement reached over the years between the two tribes for peaceful coexistence had be breached by Bassa.

Toto LGA is very peaceful and it is accommodating to everybody even more than some other part of the country and we strongly condemn these killings in this particular part of the country.
“There are migrants mainly bandits camps in the bush with aim of perpetuating evil against innocent Egbira people.”
