Babayemi’s Fate, A Lesson To Others – Osun PDP

Dotun Babayemi’s expulsion and subsequent defeat at the Supreme Court are lessons to other anti-party activists that stiff sanctions await them unless they recoil before it is too late , Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared.

Speaking while receiving some leaders of the party from Ayedaade local government over the weekend, the State Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle, said the PDP is resolved to enforce discipline within its rank and file even as he commends Babayemi’s ward for doing the needful by rooting out the expelled politician.

Noting that Babayemi was granted a long rope to hang himself, the party Chairman said the obstinately defiant behaviour of the Gbongon born politician only served to confirm that he was indeed sent on a mission to destroy the PDP, warning that anybody who follow that path again will receive instant sanction.

“Let me put on records that we never expect any regret from Mr Babayemi as he was a self -confessed spy while in our party. We also did not solicit for his poisoned advice on how to govern Osun state. The statewide celebration of the Supreme Court judgement is an overwhleming congratulations to the Governor-elect. So who need a shameless well wishes from a drowned politician?

Dr. Akindele Adekunle

“Today, on behalf of the state leadership of the party, I commend our ward leadership for acting promptly by expelling the disgraced double agent who failed miserably in his evil assignment. Your action at the ward level was well thought out and we call on other ward leaders to monitor and act on any other fingered mole within their areas.

Referring to the post judgement statement of Babayemi, Dr Adekunle said the politician who had since ceased to be a member of PDP is already stripped naked, disgraced at home, humiliated at the court and removed from party membership, adding that “nobody should anticipate remorseful conduct from a professional interloper.

“If somebody can so elaborately plot to reap where he did not sow, if somebody can satanically scheme to destroy the labour of thousands of party members, why should anyone expect such inordinately greedy politician to show guilt for willfully committed wrong? It is simply good riddance to bad rubbish “, the party Chairman noted.

Dr Akindele who called on party leaders and members to get ready for a party in government expressed appreciation of the Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke to the good people of Osun state for their overwhelming support and best wishes.

“Today, the popularity rating of our Governor – elect in Osun state is over 70 percent. Ditto for the PDP. We will not take this strong support of the populace for granted. Our government will fulfil its electoral promises and we will take Osun to greater height”, the arty Chief concluded.
