Enugu CP Hails Governor Mbah For New Crime-fighting Equipment, Calls It “A Game-changer”

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for procuring and unveiling a new set of modern technical crime-fighting equipment for security operations in the state.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the equipment, launched on Monday in Enugu through the Enugu State Security Trust Fund, includes long-range surveillance drones, ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests, operational vehicles, and motorcycles. According to the Commissioner, the intervention demonstrates the Mbah administration’s sustained commitment to strengthening internal security, enhancing operational capacity, and ensuring a safer environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Describing the initiative as a “critical support and a true game-changer,” CP Giwa said the new assets will greatly improve intelligence-led policing, crime prevention, and rapid response capabilities across the state. He added that the tools would boost crime detection, tracking, aerial surveillance, and coordinated field operations while improving the safety of officers.

The CP reaffirmed the readiness of the Police Command and other security agencies to deploy the equipment efficiently and responsibly for better security outcomes. He also applauded Governor Mbah for prioritising security as a key driver of sustainable development.

Giwa urged residents to remain vigilant, supportive, and cooperative by reporting suspicious activities and providing credible information that would help maintain peace and security across Enugu State during the festive season and beyond.
