The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of Mohammed Adamu Dankwara as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration.
DIG Dankwara takes over from DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya, who recently retired after more than 30 years of distinguished service in the Nigeria Police Force.
Before his elevation, Dankwara served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police overseeing the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, where he was noted for his professionalism, leadership, and commitment to duty.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the IGP congratulated the newly appointed DIG and expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen the administrative architecture of the Force. He noted that the deployment aligns with ongoing efforts to reposition the NPF for enhanced operational efficiency and effective service delivery.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety through strategic leadership appointments and a continued focus on excellence.
