The Nasarawa State Police Command has announced a renewed crackdown on the sale, use, possession, and distribution of fireworks, “knockouts,” and other explosive pyrotechnics across the state.
According to the Command, the enforcement is aimed at preserving public safety, preventing unnecessary panic, and stopping criminals from exploiting the sounds of explosive devices to commit offences undetected.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, psc, mnips, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Units, and the Intelligence Department to intensify patrols and surveillance to ensure strict compliance. He warned that anyone caught violating the ban will be prosecuted.

The Command also urged traders, parents, and guardians to discourage the sale and use of these prohibited items, particularly by children.
Residents are encouraged to report any violations or suspicious activities to the police via the emergency lines: 08112692680, 08036157659, 08037461715, and 07032532391, with an assurance of confidentiality.
