A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Guidance Community Development Foundation in conjunction with Iwoland Development Coalition (IDC), Olawale Rasheed Foundation and RAI Foundation has concluded arrangement to launch an empowerment programme for widows in AYIWOLA Federal Constituency of Osun State under the theme “Reaching out to poorest of the poor”.
The empowerment scheme which is scheduled to hold on May 13th, 2017 at Iwo City Hall is targeted at alleviating poverty among the widows in the area and eventually restores the hope in the subjects as a meaningful member of the society.
The founder of Guidance Community Development Foundation, Mr. Adisa Kabiru Kulukulu condemned the marginalization of the poor in the society as inhuman, saying it requires collectivity and harmonize interest to reduce the wide disparity between the affluence and the abject. He disclosed the readiness of his NGO and collaborating foundations to distribute items and launch empowerment programmes for the benefit of the widows across Iwo Federal Constituency of Osun State.
“At least 600 widows, orphans and vulnerable children in Iwoland will be relieved with needed items. Rice and beans for widows, T-shirt and school bags for orphans and vulnerable children. Selected widows will be empowered with equipment like sewing machine. The succor will also include capacity building” said Kulukulu.
The founder of RAI Foundation, Mr. Rufai Adeniyi Ismail disclosed his foundation`s mission covers varieties of succor, pointing that identify with the less privilege to restore their hope and make them feel among is sacrosanct. According to him, I partner with other life impacting NGO to give back and promote our society than we met. He said the widows are neglected at the detriment of the society. Hence, the need to feed, clothe and empower them.
“I am bashed whenever I see people suffering. This people never offended God, many of them are accidental and must be cater for. That is why I launched RAI Foundation to wipe tears in peoples` faces with what I am blessed with. Though, I can`t touch everywhere but the little we can, it must be delivered especially to the poor. We are set to distribute food items, cloths and empower at least 600 widows in Iwoland” said Rufai.
The organizers therefore called on indigenes and visitors of Iwoland to inform widows to attend the programme under the chairmanship of Otunba Waliu Oladosu and the CEO of Sahel Standard Newspaper, Abuja, Mallam Olawale Rasheed as one of the expected dignitaries. Other invited Very Important Guests are Alhaji Remi Morgan Ishola, Alhaji Bayo Laisi, Hon. Mudashiru Toogun, Ahaji Badru Lukman, Mrs Folake Aremu AKA Orisabunmi, Mr Liad Olaiya while Mr. Kabiru Kulukulu is the chief host.
