….Deploys 1457 Officers and Men for Eid-el-kabir Celebrations
The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Commandant Agboola Sunday has reiterated his readiness to step up the Command’s operational strategies towards fulfilling the mandates of the Corps; to combat crimes and make sure there is adequate protection for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Osun NSCDC boss said all prayer grounds would be effectively provided with adequate security.
The Commandant made this known at the State Headquarters, on Friday, 8th July, 2022, in a press release by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II) Atanda Olabisi. He urged the Muslim faithful to use the medium of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations to pray for the country.
Commandant Agboola assured the public that the command has deployed adequate personnel to all entry points in the state, praying grounds, recreation centres and other public places across the state of Osun to ensure safety of lives and property.
Furthermore, Commandant Agboola Sunday explained that the command would continue to perform its statutory mandates of protecting the critical national assets and infrastructure. He added that there would be collaborations with other security agencies to ensure that the celebration is peaceful. He said “patrol vehicles have been put in place to prevent crimes, personnel have been deployed to residential areas, recreational and resort centres and around critical national assets and infrastructure in the state”.
He assured members of the public that personnel deployed will discharge their duties with a high level of professionalism and dedication. The Commandant, therefore, called on members of the public to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement to the authorities for immediate intervention.
Commandant Agboola wishes all Muslim faithful across the state a wonderful and hitch–free celebration.
In conclusion, the commandant appealed to the public to always give proactive intelligence to the nearest security agency in their environment. He advised that “security is everybody’s business, and everybody’s business should be taken as a serious business.” Commandant Agboola enjoined all residents of Osun State to go about their lawful businesses and enjoy their celebrations, as officers and men of the Corps are adequately and strategically on ground to protect lives and property.
