Synergy among security agencies in the country has been described as the bedrock of achieving adequate safety of lives and property.
According to a press release on Thursday, 15th September 2022 signed by the Ag. Public Relations Officer, ASCII Adeleke Kehinde, said that the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command, Sunday Agboola affirmed this during a courtesy visit to his office by the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration in Osun State, Timothy Oladele Olasiyan.
Commandant Sunday Agboola explained further, that both agencies belong to the Ministry of Interior, hence the need for strong collaboration to get the best result, and to achieve the mandates of each agency.
“NSCDC has a very good working relationship with the Nigeria Immigration Service in some of its operations across the country. Our responsibility is to ensure the security of lives and property,” Commandant Agboola said.
The Osun NSCDC boss stressed the need for all security agencies to deploy every arsenal at their disposal to bring the spate of insecurity to an end.
While stating the purpose of his visit, the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service in Osun State, Timothy Oladele said it was expedient for him to pay a visit to NSCDC in the state as the power of inter-agency collaboration cannot be overemphasized.
According to him, “Security is no longer exclusive. It is inclusive, therefore, every hand must be on deck to achieve safety on the land. Carrying the best riffle or the best weapon does not guarantee your well-being without the cooperation of your community.”
The NIS Comptroller also made it known that the visit was to seek further partnership to prevent criminal elements from entering the country.
