….Welcomes New Fire Chief
The Oyo State Police Command has warned residents of the State about its growing concerns about reported Fire Incidents during this dry/harmattan season.
CP Adebowale Williams gave the warning while welcoming the New State Commander of Fire Service, Assistant Controller of Fire (ACF) Owoseni Olusegun to his office.
According to a press release signed by the Oyo State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, he said the CP advises residents to adopt the highest level of caution whenever dealing with combustible and other highly flammable Objects.
The statement read, “More disturbing is the rate of negligence exhibited by individuals who store jerry cans of fuel at home/shops, make calls around active fuel pumps and gas cookers.
“Also, bush burning and incineration of refuse during this period must never be left unsupervised to avoid unnecessary escalation of wildfire.
“Consequent to the above and in a bid to maintain its proactive stance, the Oyo State Police Command in partnership with the Federal Fire Service, Oyo State Command would embark on occasional Operational drills and Strategic Fire Simulation Exercises to address “Call-response issues” with deliberate considerations for the safety concerns onlookers and victims in the case of an active incident.
“In cases of emergency, the Command can always be reached through these emergency control room numbers: 615 (toll-free (OYO STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND), and Oyo State Police Command emergency lines 07055495413 and 08081768614. The NPF rescue me app is also available for free download on both Android and Apple IOS, for Android and I phone users respectively.
