Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has said that the 2021 budget is ready for presentation before the State House of Assembly, next week.

Engineer Sule disclosed this while presiding over the monthly state executive council, at the Government House, on Monday.

According to the Governor, the 2021 budget is ready for members of the executive council to discuss and make amendments, with the executive arm of government considering November 17, as likely date to present the document before members of the state assembly.

“Today is a day we will discuss our budget. The budget for 2021 is ready for us to discuss and make amendments.

“We are considering the 17th of this month to present the budget before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly,” he stated.

Engineer Sule used the opportunity of the meeting to express more appreciation to the people of the state, especially youths, for not buying into the #ENDSARS protest, praying for God to give leaders across the country, added wisdom to overcome the challenges confronting the nation.

While noting that challenging times require a lot of wisdom and patience, the Governor called on members of the state executive council, to develop the wisdom necessary in order to ensure the state overcome all its challenges.

He equally used the moment to thank the federal government, for all the support Nasarawa State continue to receive.

Engineer Sule specifically thanked the federal government over the recent approval by the Senate, which saw two sons of the state being sworn in as Chairman and Commissioner at the National Population Commission, as well as the renewal of the contract of Dr. Faisal Shuaib,  as the Chairman of the National Primary Health Care Agency.

The Governor expressed further appreciation to the federal government following the selection of Nasarawa State, among the six states from the North Central, to benefit from a special intervention fund from Tetfund, with two newly established faculties of medicine and engineering, at the state-owned university in Keffi, to benefit.

Engineer Sule also expressed gratitude to the federal government for its continued intervention in the area of security, following which the military Special Forces, were able to record another success in the fight against banditry and kidnappings, by killing some notorious bandits, including Buju Bazamfare, who was killed only few days ago.

He congratulated the military for all the successes so far recorded.

Finally, the Governor updated the council on the status of COVID-19, urging the people of the state not to relax in the collective bid to curtail further spread of the pandemic.
