Gombe Governor Extols Senator Goje

…….As Former Governor Commissions Magnificent Jumma’at Mosque he Built in Shongo Idirissa

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has joined senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje to commission a mosque built by the former governor in Shongo Idrisa Village, a community in Akko local government area of the state.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the Umar Bin Kattab Mosque, shortly after the friday prayer, Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged the worshippers at the congregation to intensify prayers for Allah’s intervention on the rising insecurity bedeviling the northern region and Nigeria at large, accordimg to a press release signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli.

He lauded Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje over the multi million naira humanitarian projects he has been executing within his senatirial district and beyond which he said have direct bearing on the life of a common man.

While commending the peaceful coexistence among the people of Shongo Idirissa community, Governor Yahaya said his administration will continue to promote activities that will foster unity and religious harmony in the state.

He also called for unity of purpose among the Muslim Ummah and between them and non- Muslims alike, saying there is no alternative to peace and harmony.

The Governor also assured the community that, very soon the area will witness the commencement of some projects in line with his campaign promise and the developmental agenda of his administration.

In his remarks, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje said the construction of Mosques in communities across his constituency and beyond was borne out of his desire to contribute his quota in promoting Islam for reward in the hereafter. He appreciated Almighty Allah for giving him the opportunity to do the charitable act that he believes will earn him reward in the sight of Allah.

He thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for honouring him with his presence at the mosque commissioning, recalling the key role the Governor played as Commissioner of Finance during his administration in making the construction of ultra modern Bubayero Central mosque Gombe a reality as well as in many other endeavours.

Senator Goje thanked Islamic scholars who supported his course and encouraged him over the years and other stakeholders who in one way or the other contributed in making the mosque project a success.

The former Governor tasked the benefitting community to take ownership by ensuring adequate maintenance and close supervision of the place of worship.

The national chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa iqamatissunnah, JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau who led the Jumaat prayer to flag-off the majid, described Senator Danjuma Goje as a committed Muslim that is conscious of his religion and the hereafter.

“Senator Danjuma Goje should be a role model for many wealthy people that want to invest in their religion for a better hereafter by engaging in such beneficial projects”.

“Allah Has promised building a befitting House in Paradise for anyone who builds a mosque for him and Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje has built many Mosques aside from the ones he either influenced or directly built in other places such as the famous Bubayero Central mosque at the Emir’s palace in Gombe”

“What we build in this world is only for this world like our house but there is a great reward to build a masjid; when we donate to build a mosque, we earn a house in Jannah. It is stated in many ahadees that the one who builds a masjid Allah will build a house for him in Jannah”.

Other speakers at the event, commended Sen. Goje for his act of benevolence and called on other well to do individuals in the society to emulate him.

The event was attended by Government functionaries, traditional rulers, religious leaders and a large crowd of well wishers who came from far and near to witness the commissioning event.
