NNPC Will Come Out Clean Over Senate Probes – Youth Alliance

The leadership of the Integrity Youth Alliance has said that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC will come out clean in respect of the Senate probe of the Corporation’s Internal Generated Revenues from 2010 till 2020.

This was revealed at the end of the Alliance Emergency Meeting in Abuja on Monday, 31st May, 2021.

It will be recalled that the Senate commenced investigation into the internal generated revenues, IGR of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC from 2010 till 2020 just as its management is scheduled to appear before the Committee on Finance, chaired by Senator Solomon Adeola (APC Lagos West) today, Tuesday.

“Since Mallam Mele Kyari assumed office, he had taken calculated steps to ensure more openness in the activities of the Corporation and the Transparency, Accountability and Performance Excellence (TAPE) agenda has brought about greater transparency and accountability in NNPC’s management of Nigerian oil and gas revenues to date, the statement said.

“So far, some of the successes recorded under the TAPE agenda include the publication of the 2018 and 2019 NNPC Audited Financial Statements (AFS) as well as the NNPC Monthly Financial and Operations Report with the 67th publication published on Thursday 27th May, 2021.

The statement further said that even though the audited financial status of NNPC is in the public and on the website of the Corporation,  Mallam Mele Kyari has continued to reiterate his commitment to conducting the business and operations of the NNPC in a transparent manner, with a view to placing it on the path of profitability.

“We are very optimistic that the NNPC Chief Financial Officer CFO, Umar Ajiya, on behalf of the NNPC Management, will present all the required documents and on the payment of stamp duty to the satisfaction of the Senate, the statement concluded.
