Stakeholders Sign Agreement On 50million Liters Petroleum Depot

Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and ZED Energy Limited have signed agreement on construction of Brass Petroleum Product Terminal, BPPT, in the Niger-Delta.

The signing ceremony which took place in NNPC Towers, Abuja was witnessed by the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E. Timipre Sylva, the Group Managing Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari, Executive Secretary, Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr Simbi Warbote and the representatives of the ZED Energy Ltd.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E. Timipre Sylva stated that the project among other benefits will take out the incentive of illegal refinery, close infrastructural gaps in the distribution of petroleum products in the Niger Delta areas and create pathway for structural modular refinery.

H.E. Sylva submitted that this initiative has added another feather to the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, stressing that he had impacted the Niger-Delta more than any other leaders in the country.

The Group Managing Director, NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, pointed out that the depot when completed will create 1,000 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect jobs as well as enhance energy security in the country.

Mallam Kyari added that the depot which will also serve as strategic reserve in the country will equally house 30 million liters of Premium Motor Sprit (PMS), 20 million Litres of AGO and DPK.
