Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today moved round Gombe Metropolis to inspect some ongoing projects with a view to ascertaining the level of progress, quality and the due time for delivery.

According to a press release on Saturday signed by the 17th July, 2021 DG (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, he said that the projects inspected by the Governor included the Gombe Metropolitan Mega Park and the 3.2 kilometres Kwanar Oando-London Maidoruwa-Alkahira- Arawa road as well as the completed 12. 5 KM Malam Inna – Kurba – Titi with Spur Arawa – Kundulum road.

While conducting the Governor round the Gombe Metropolitan Mega Park, the Commissioner of Housing, Abdullahi Idris Kwami said about 60% of road networks at the park has been achieved by Triacta Nigeria Limited.

The Housing Commissioner equally told Governor Inuwa Yahaya that AG Fererro, the second construction firm at the park has also achieved more than 65% completion status of structures at the Gombe Metropolitan Mega Park.

Abdullahi Idris Kwami thereafter took the Governor to the 40-room hotel apartment, fire service unit, retail shops, terminal building and administrative block.

Other areas inspected by the Governor and his entourage include the taxi terminal and the trailer bay which is capable of accommodating 2500 to 3000 trailers at once.

Project Manager of Triacta Nigeria Limited, Imran Amin Khan, informed the Governor that the project being executed is going on according to specifications and that the trailer park is expected to be completed within the next 45 days.

At the 3.2 kilometres Kwanar Oando-London Maidoruwa-Alkahira-Arawa road, the Commissioner of Works, Engr Abubakar Bappah told the Governor that the road which cuts across densely populated communities was part of his administration’s commitment to bringing development to the door steps of the people.

While speaking at the Mega Park, Governor Inuwa said the project which started in 2012 by the immediate past administration was abandoned, with the claim that the park had been completed and even commissioned.

The Governor explained that at the time the project was said to have been completed and commissioned, it was only about 39% completed, saying the Gombe Metropolitan Mega Park is more of a civil work, than the building which the immediate past administration hurriedly erected.

“But today we thank God we have seen where we are. It is now about 70% completed, including civil and building work, our target to the contractors is for the project to be completed by December 2021. That means we shall finish what they failed to finish in 7 years by the grace of God in 1 year”.

The Governor charged the contractors to work round the clock so that they meet the deadline for the delivery of the project as his administration cannot wait to have all motor parks in Gombe metropolis move to the Gombe Metropolitan Mega Park especially the Bauchi motor park, where government hopes to commence the construction of a befitting Secretariat for the State civil servants.

He said his administration will not fail the people and therefore called on the contractors to work according to schedule without compromising quality of the project.

While thanking the people of the State for the support and solidarity extended to him, the Governor assured that his administration will not leave any project unfinished as citizens of the State deserve all the developmental paraphernalia to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya equally disclosed that by the early part of next month, his administration will lay the foundation stone for the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, which is expected to boost socio- provide jobs for the people and boost their socio-economic activities.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was accompanied by the State Deputy Governor Dr. Manasseh Daniel Jatau, the Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, SSG Chief of Staff, Commissioners and other Government functionaries.
