Measures have been put in place to ensure that different formations of the NSCDC do not rest on their oars in ensuring peace returns to every troubled area of the country. This was made known by the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, at the end of the 1st quarter Commandant General’s Conference for the year 2022, held at the National Headquarters, Abuja.

Similarly, the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja has refurbished eleven operational vehicles and one Ambulance to prove the operational efficiency of the command.

This was made known by the State Commandant, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II) Atanda Olabisi today 12th April 2022, at the Command’s headquarters, Ilesha Road, Oke Ayepe, Osogbo.

Commandant Ocheja spoke about the progress of the command in the first quarter of the year 2022 during the Zonal meeting with Zone J, Zonal Commander, Assistant Commandant General of Corps (ACG) Adeyinka Fasiu, at the Zonal Command in Osogbo the State Capital on 11th April 2022. Emmanuel Ocheja said the refurbished vehicles are to boost the morale of the personnel while discharging their statutory duties. It will, also, enable the Corps to respond quickly to any security challenge in any part of the state.

Commandant Ocheja stressed that the newly refurbished vehicles will go a long way in improving the response of the NSCDC, Osun State Command to disasters and emergencies, now that the country is currently facing security challenges and the state is preparing for the gubernatorial election.

While inspecting the refurbished operational vehicles at the state headquarters, Ayepe, Osogbo, the Zone J Zonal Commander, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Fasiu Adeyinka commended the untiring efforts of Commandant Ocheja, saying the development is in line with Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s mission and vision at repositioning the Corps.

He also explained further that the operational vehicles would help at combating crimes across the state.

ACG Adeyinka said the operational vehicles would be positioned at strategic points in the state, to put an end to various security challenges in the state.

Commandant Ocheja promised his administration is making frantic efforts to reposition the State Command to deliver on the core mandates of the Corps. He also said he is working towards building a strong workforce that could tackle and fish out criminal elements in Osun State.

The refurbishment of the vehicles formerly in various states of disrepair was borne out of the urgent need to secure the state as the country is facing numerous security challenges by the activities of Boko Haram Terrorists, banditry, kidnappers, and other criminal activities.

Commandant Ocheja concluded by expressing the Command’s determination in ensuring that criminals have no hiding place in the state. He, therefore, urged the public not to relent in giving NSCDC proactive intelligence for a prompt response to curb criminal activities.
