The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has refuted the baseless, unfounded, and misleading news making the rounds on some sections of the media, particularly the social media, targeted at generating panic and apprehension in the minds of the residents of the FCT and the general public as a whole.

According to a press release signed by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh ANIPR, she said that the news suggests that the FCT Police Command has revealed that some strange people are trooping into the FCT, urging members of the public to be vigilant and support the command with credible and actionable information to fight the purported security challenge.

The statement read in part, “Consequent upon the above, the Command categorically wishes to refute this baseless assertion and to reassure the good people of the territory that the security architecture of the Command remains resolutely firm and uncompromising within the city centers and the suburbs.” Members of the public are therefore enjoined to go about their lawful duties without the fear of harassment and molestation from anyone or any quarters.
