Let me start by pointing out a generally accepted fact about leadership. There is a saying that “an army of sheep led by a lion will always defeat an army of lions led by a sheep”. This means that a true leader must have a different ATTITUDE; he must be brave, bold, focused, determined, and goal-oriented.
There is no doubt that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa has all these qualities of a good leader. This is the why behind his unprecedented achievements and marvelous performance.
In less than three years after he assumed office as Executive Governor of Gombe State, he has miraculously achieved more than what his predecessor achieved in his entire 8 years in many areas such as; education from basic to higher, health from primary health care to tertiary, land administration, enrollment of thousands of out of school children under BESDA programme, road networking, creating a business conducive environment for investment and businesses, erosion control, tax generation and many more.
Many Gombawa have so much confidence in this administration and are satisfied with the achievements so far recorded. And one good thing about the achievements is they are verifiable. One can go ahead and make some investigations to prove this disposition, after all, we are living in an era with free access to information.
With the little and limited resources Gombe State has, Dan Maje is doing his best and has so far recorded tremendous successes.
This is a man that carries everybody along without any form of discrimination, he always appoints and delegates based on competency, and he supervises all the awarded projects and programs to avoid failure and to increase productivity.
His God-fearing attitude is the key strength that impels him in the right direction. He has already proven beyond any reasonable doubt that he loves Gombe more than he loves himself, he sacrifices much in building Gombe State from rural to urban areas, he prioritizes the masses’ needs over anything, he always dreams and talks about a new Gombe state, a new Gombe state for the present and the next generation, the project which he always committed to.
It is therefore imperative to say that Governor Inuwa automatically qualified for the second term, Gombe needs Dan Maje and Dan Maje is not comparable to all candidates when competence is the factor.
