Nasarawa State governor’s second term bid received a boost after supporters of the governor, under the aegis of Engineer Abdullahi Sule Amalgamated Support Groups (EASASG), as well as other well-wishers, paid N50m to pick both the expression of interest and nomination forms for the governor.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Murtala Lamus, led members of the groups, to obtain the forms at the Buhari House, the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Abuja, on Thursday.
Hon Lamus was accompanied by two Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on SDG’s and Abuja Liaison office, Murtala Abubakar Muhammad and Yusuf Jibrin Maianguwa respectively.
Speaking shortly after picking the forms, the leader of the delegation, said even though their principal, Engineer Sule is yet to make any official declaration on his second ambition, members of the EASASG decided to buy the forms to compel him to seek re-election.
According to Hon. Lamus the governor has performed beyond expectations and as such deserves the support of all and sundry to enable him to continue with the good works he is doing for the overall development of the state.
National Organizing Secretary of the APC, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, who received the delegation, commended them for their show of love and support to Engineer Abdullahi Sule.
With this development, Engineer Sule, who is yet to return from his trip on Lesser Hajj, is expected to participate in the scheduled governorship primary election of the APC next month.
