The FCT Commissioner of Police CP Babaji Sunday while wishing the Muslim faithful in the Territory and beyond a prosperous Ramadan Kareem, has assured residents of the Abuja of a robust security architecture already emplaced for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, as operation order has been designed among many things to ensure watertight security at all places of worship and their environs.
According to a press release signed by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh ANIPR, she said that an effective foot and vehicular patrol to parks, recreational and entertainment centers, a heavy deployment of traffic personnel to strategic points ensure a free flow of traffic, a generous and strategic deployment of Tactical and Intelligence apparatus, and a revamping of the Command’s Control Room to ensure prompt response to distress calls from within the city center and the suburbs.
The statement read further, “Consequent upon the above, the Command wishes to emphatically enjoin members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without the fear of harassment or molestation of any kind from any quarters in this period and beyond.
“In addition to the above, the CP while highlighting the importance of the holy month of Ramadan called on the faithful to take advantage of the blessings and the values attached to the season in seeking peace, adherence to the laws of the land, and above all, love for fellow humans.
“To complement the above, The Command urges the good people of the FCT not to relent in cooperating with the Police and to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or abnormal occurrence to the Police, the statement concluded.
