Women Arise, a Civil Society Organisation established in 2003 to work for the women, encouraging them to come together to stand up against misuse and abuse by a male-dominated society has condemned the killing of Deborah Samuel in the strongest terms.
According to a press release on Friday, 13th May 2020 signed by the President of Women Arise, Dr. Joe Okei- Odumakin, she called people and the government of Sokoto State to eschew violence and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book to deter others.
She further said that life is sacred and should never be snuffed out of any human being without the judgment of a court of law.
Recalled that Ms. Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto was cruelly lynched on the allegation that she blasphemed.
