By Benson Nwachukwu

It is remarkable and worth commending as erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), member of APC Legacy Projects Media Team, and a Terror to unprogressive elements in the politics of Nigeria, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, in a keenly contested online voting by the general public defeated former Governor of Imo State and Lawmaker, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Rivers State born Lawmaker, Hon. Farah Dagogo, amongst other controversial figures to emerge winner in the Trendsetters award category of the Most Controversial Personality of the Year 2022.

The Award event organized by the Trendsetters Group through an online voting strategy had under this group the following nominees – Senator Rochas Okorocha, Hon. Farah Dagogo, Senibo Chris Finebone, Bar. Chizy Enyi, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, Bar. Sogbeye Eli, Omoyele Sowore, and Chief Eze Chukwumeka Eze garnered the highest number of votes in an online voting process that lasted several days.

Described differently by individuals and groups according to their encounters and perspective on his works, Chief Eze, better known as Amaechi Media War Commander, a five star Pen General, the tormentor of the unprogressive elements, a writer par excellence and above all a philanthropist of repute, is a man of many parts and father of many children in the Journalism profession who has made indelible marks in the lives of men.

He is an accomplished Media Chief with remarkable contributions in the development of the realm. His works span through the print, social and electronic media with a wide circulation that commands thousands of audience across Nigeria and beyond the continent of Africa.

Eze derives pleasure in mentoring younger generation of leaders in journalism, leadership and politics.

His comments and opinions on the defense of Rivers APC and Amaechi, former Transportation Minister are accurate and factual, hence it has never been put to doubt.

There is no doubt that Chief-Eze embodies much of what we hope for in a good leader as a nation. He is an experienced writer whose pattern of writing has generated much media controversies, including from Governor Wike, who once called a well over 60year old man “That small igbo boy”.

We cannot also forget easily how Chief-Eze has been fighting relentlessly, through the media, on the side of Justice against the unprogressive elements in Rivers APC and the maladministration of the present Wike/PDP led government in Rivers State.

A crusader of good governance, Eze’s struggle via writing with the progressive minds in the All Progressive Congress is hugely paying off.

He was a founding member of PDP in Adamawa State in 1998, at various times National Director of Strategic Planning, Frontier Movement, Publicity Secretary of defunct Rivers State Action Congress and the Media Consultant to Princewill Political Associates (PPA). He was the National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and currently a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

He was a member of the Adamawa State SEEDS Formulation Committee; Chairman, Adamawa State Wrestling Association; donor of trophies, and initiator of many sports competitions in Adamawa State. He is a patron of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Adamawa State.

Eze has authored and published several articles promoting democracy in Nigeria. He loves writing and has authored a book, Prince Tonye TJT Princewill: The Prince of Niger Delta Politics – His Vision, Mission and Politics. A devout Christian, Eze is an elder in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He is married with children.

I therefore with all boldness declare that Chief-Eze is a rare gem both intellectually and politically and his eloquence, courage, forthrightness and strength of character made me christen him the “AMAECHI MEDIA WAR COMMANDER, AND A FIVE STAR MEDIA GENERAL, HE IS THE “CICERO” IN THE LIKENESS OF THE OLD ROMAN ORATOR”

I can say today that Chief-Eze chukwuemeka Eze’s emergence is well deserved.
