NIPOST, eGate, and Visa have signed a tripartite partnership to facilitate digital financial services, issuing of payment cards, and support financial inclusion.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi, Postmaster General/CEO of NIPOST, Essam El-Sagheer CEO of eGate; and Alex McCrea, Vice President, Global Digital Partnership, Visa. VP.
Dr. Adewusi stated that NIPOST has a strategic plan to provide financial inclusion services as part of Nigeria’s digital transformation plan.
”Today we take this plan forward by signing with eGate, one of the leaders in digital transformation and our consultant who leads our digital transformation plan, and Visa, the world leader in digital payments”.
El-Sagheer said eGate has become one of the digital transformation leaders in Africa. The agreement will enable NIPOST to provide digital financial services using Visa credit and prepaid cards to the unbanked customer to support financial inclusion, government eService, and no-cash societies, to expand the acceptance of electronic payments where Visa will provide cards payments solutions for the success of this new form of technological cooperation to meet the ambitions and requirements of the citizens of Nigeria.
