The National Commissioner Dr. Vincent Olatunji led the NDPB team on a courtesy visit to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit is part of NDPB’s awareness drive of sensitizing the public sector on Data Privacy in Nigeria. It was geared towards intimating the NHIA’s management on the importance of data privacy & protection as a major data controller and seeking possible areas of collaboration in ensuring a safe and secure data privacy ecosystem in the healthcare sector.
The NHIA Director General, Prof M. N. Sambo expressed his delight at the visit of the NDPB National Commissioner to the Agency particularly since the Agency recently commissioned its data center in Abuja.
He further assured collaboration between the two agencies. The collaboration has led to the establishment of a joint working committee to develop an MOU for the partnership and compliance with Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) by stakeholders in the health sector.
