The True Nigeria Television Series and Hall of Fame initiated by Northern music icon, Mr Zakky Azzay, has inducted and conferred on Gov. Abdullahi Sule the award of a True Nigeria.
Azzay, convener of The True Nigeria Initiative stated that annually only 12 worthy Nigerians were selected from the rank and file of the most powerful people in society, who range from politicians to business moguls
He said that these notable people were applauded for their exemplary attitude and love for Nigeria.
A statement issued in Lafia on Saturday and made available to News Agency of Nigeria said the governor was represented by his Director General, Strategic Communication, Malam Yakubu Lamai
The statement said that the event was held at Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja
According to the statement, Sule said that he accepted the award because the initiative seeks to demystify power and close the gap between those who lead and masses who are governed.
He added that the highest calling in life was that of public servant.
He noted that a leader cannot govern effectively, unless he was willing to be a servant leader and become a servant to his people.
According to Sule, he governs with the fear of God in his heart in Nasarawa State and it therefore has been easy and natural for him to easily imbibe and exemplify humility, transparency, inclusion and accountability as a governor.
The statement added that the governor said that he accepted the True Nigerian Award because the initiative seeks to demystify power and close the gap between those who lead and poor masses who are governed.
