The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani on Tuesday, 31st January 2023, received in his Office and interacted with representatives of the European Union (EU) Elections Observation Mission to Nigeria The team was led by Mr. Juris Bigels. The team’s visit was to familiarise itself with and ascertain the level of preparedness of the police to ensure a peaceful and secure atmosphere for the 2023 general elections in the state.
According to a statement from the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Commissioner, who warmly welcomed the visitors, reiterated the unwavering commitment and readiness of the Police, working with sister security agencies and other stakeholders, to emplace adequate security and ensure a convivial atmosphere before, during, and after the period of the elections.
Joining the CP to welcome and interact with the representatives were the Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of the Department of Operations and the State CID Enugu, DCP Olasoji Akinbayo and DCP Fidelis Ogarabe, respectively, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, ACP Hope Isiani Okereke, and other staff officers of the command.
