Benue State Police operatives on Monday, January 30, 2023, arrested one Tyolumun Aver, also known as “Rugged,” at North-bank Makurdi dressed in military uniform at night.
According to a press release signed by the Benue State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Anene Sewuese Catherine, said that during the investigation, it was discovered that Aver was impersonating to carry out nefarious acts in the area.
The Command spokesperson further said that the following persons were also arrested in connection with the case: Isaac Sefa, Saaior Tunaga, Iorpenda Nature, and Tyolumun Boniface.
Items recovered from them include one Dane gun, cartridges, military camouflage uniforms, and accessories, black Special Forces uniforms, forged military identification cards, and other operational materials.
“These are suspected criminals who engage in heinous crimes, particularly armed robbery, around Makurdi-Lafia road. An investigation is ongoing to unravel the sources of these items recovered, the statement concluded.
