Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command acting on credible intelligence that a gang of kidnappers was operating along Okarki New Road Borokiri on Thursday, 9th February 2023 swiftly mobilized to the scene, incidentally upon sighting the police 0peratives, the hoodlums took to flight.
According to a press release signed by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Grace Iringe-Koko, the suspects left behind an ash-colored Toyota Corolla with registration number AGL 540 DV.
“Upon a search of the vehicle, two AK47 riffles with three magazines, twenty-five rounds of live ammunition, a staff ID card of First Bank and UBA ATM cards, two pieces of One US Dollar note, one piece of 1000 Euro note, Two Thousand Eight Hundred Naria and a small jack knife were recovered, SP. Grace Iringe-Koko said.
She further said that the abandoned vehicle and its contents have been taken to the Police Command for discreet investigation, to possibly arrest the fleeing suspects.
