By Mohammed Baba Busu

The Niger chapter, Tinubu/Shetima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council, has vowed to deliver 653,485 votes for Sen. Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in Saturday’s general election in the state.

Alhaji Ahmed Ketso, the Deputy Governor of the state and Coordinator of the group, disclosed this during a news conference in Minna on Thursday.

“We are prepared to deliver a total of 653,485 votes for the APC in the forthcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections in Niger state.

“I strongly believe that our members will not rest until all APC candidates in these elections are victorious,” he said.

Ketso however appealed to the electorate in the state to vote e Tinubu/Shetima and National Assembly candidates in the general elections to enable them to consolidate the achievements of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said that the measure would ensure the security and development of the state and the nation at large.

“On behalf of all of us at the Independent Campaign Council of the Tinubu/Shetima Grassroots Campaign, I call on all Nigerlites to join us on Saturday at our various polling units to vote for Tinubu/Shetima and all National Assembly candidates of the APC,” he urged.

The coordinator explained that the group’s one-on-one approach to the campaign had gained it 130,697 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) carrying members across the state.

He said that the members include the state executive members, elders, advisory committee, zonal/federal constituency coordinators, local government area committee, and unit agents/representatives.

Ketso further said that each member has the mandate to mobilize five registered voters in their polling units.

“This way, we are further assured that we are in full control of the polling units in Niger state,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there are 4,950 polling units in the state. (NAN)
