Youth for Peace and Development in the Niger Delta has passed a vote of confidence in the Executive Vice President, of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Engr. Tombomieye Adokiye.
Addressing the media on Thursday in Abuja, the President of the Group, Prince Jude Ubaka, said that Engr. Adokiye has done tremendously well through competency, honesty, character, and loyalty to promote the vision and mandates of NNPC Limited.
“Sequel to a petition of allegations of bunkering and crude oil theft as well as the instigation of our youths to stage a mega protest in our region as alleged by a fraudulent group called “Niger Delta Youths & Stakeholders Congress” is totally baseless, blackmail, and mere propaganda sponsored by evil elements to tarnish the good reputation and raise the profile of Mr. Tombomieye Adokiye, who has contributed immensely to the development of our region and Nigeria in general, and we want to use this opportunity to appeal to the EFCC chairman, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, to investigate this fraudulent group to ascertain their evil activities to cause crisis in our region.
It went on to say, “However, without fear or favor, we want to state categorically that Engr. Tombomieye Adokiye, as we all know, is the only genuine Niger Delta son that has been doing everything humanely possible to stop the activities of oil bunkering, pipeline vandalism, and oil theft in the region, and he has never been involved in or indirectly sponsored anybody on illegal oil activities; hence, we advise the general public, especially the EFCC, to disregard the allegations made against Engr. Tombomieye Adokiye
It is said that Engr. Tombomieye Adokiye is a man of integrity and good character; a man of peace; and, above all, a man who has contributed immensely to the development of our region and the nation at large.
“He has empowered over thousands of youths across our region with various skill and acquisition training for them to have a better life. The statement said
Recall that a group known as Niger Delta Youths and Stakeholder Congress alleged that Engr. Adokiye is involved in crude oil theft and instigating youths to stage a mega protest in the Niger Delta region.
