Following the fatal motor truck accident that occurred at the Bauchi Road junction on Thursday, where a tanker truck loaded with petroleum products lost brake control and went on fire, the Plateau State Police Commissioner has deployed DC DOPS, Area Commanders DPOs, and heads of tactical teams to take necessary actions to ensure that peace and normalcy are restored at Bauchi Road Junction.
According to an update from the command spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, he said that twenty-eight shops, eight motor vehicles or cars, six tricycles, and two motorcycles, along with thirteen unidentified persons, were burned beyond recognition, which is an increase from what was reported in our earlier release.
He further said that the corpses have been buried by JNI according to Islamic rites, while ten injured people were taken to various hospitals for medical attention.
“Further developments also revealed that an angry mob in their hundreds attacked the FRSC staff and burned down their operational vehicle with Reg No. AO1 783 RS, in the course of which one of the FRSC staff sustained injuries on his forehead. One suspect has been arrested, the statement concluded.
