…. As IPAC pays him a thank-you visit
…. Lauds Police for protecting the interest of parties, candidates, and citizens

The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani has commended the umbrella body of the eighteen political parties in the State, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), for collaborating and supporting the Police and other security agencies to actualize a secure and peaceful 2023 General Elections.

A statement on Thursday, 25th May 2023 signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the CP thanked them for heeding the pre-election pieces of advice and charges given to them to shun acts of violence and other electoral offenses that could have truncated the peaceful and smooth conduct of the elections.

CP Ammani made this known when the leadership of IPAC, Enugu State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Hon. Edwin Ikechukwu Alor, paid him a “thank you visit” in his Office at the State Headquarters, GRA, Enugu.

Speaking on behalf of the Council, the Chairman appreciated the Enugu State Police Command for manifesting gallantry and professionalism in the discharge of their statutory duties before, during, and after the elections.

According to him, “Our collective delight stems from the fact the Police in our State manifested critical gallantry and professionalism in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities according to the best international practices.”

Appreciating the Commissioner of Police, the Chairman stated that “We are grateful that under your leadership, we saw the Police working in the interest of all political parties and their candidates for the peace and security of the entire State.”

He further commended the CP’s humility and wisdom in engaging them in a series of meetings ahead of the elections, noting that “your message that kept reminding us that we are brothers and sisters in Enugu State despite our different political alignments was very instructive.”

Alor encouraged the CP and the Police to remain steadfast in the discharge of the onerous task of securing Enugu State.

The Commissioner was joined by his Management Team members and Staff Officers to receive and interact with the visitors.
