The Online Media Reporters Association of Nigeria has congratulated the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, on the extension of his tenure of office as President Bola Tinubu assented to a constitutional amendment bill harmonizing the retirement age of judges across courts.
In a press release on Monday, June 12, 2023, signed by the National Coordinator of the Online Media Reporters Association of Nigeria, Adewole Kehinde, and Publicity Secretary, Cyril Onoka, the statement said that the extension will afford Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho the opportunity to advance the frontiers of swift justice delivery within the court’s jurisdiction.
“The extension will give Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho more time to increase his sterling performance on human resources and infrastructural development, particularly in the efficient and effective administration of justice and the welfare of judicial officers, as well as the support staff of the Federal High Court, the statement said.
Recall that President Tinubu signed into law the ‘Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (Fifth Alteration) (No. 37), 2023,” presented by the outgoing 9th National Assembly. The bill has raised the retirement age of the judges of the lower courts from 65 to 70.
