……. Recovers four different Caliber of locally made firearms
The Bauchi State Police Command sequel to the unending and relentless commitment of the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad to tackle all forms of crime and criminality in the State embarked on aggressive visibility Patrol/Community Policing engagement which yielded positive results.
In a statement on Friday, 14th July 2023 signed by the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said that from Monday, 10th July 2023 to Thursday, 13th July 2023, detectives attached to Alkaleri Divisional Police headquarters in collaboration with professional hunters randomly raided some identified black spots at Babarko village via Pali district and Yalo Karekare Digare villages Gwana villages and consequently arrested seven notorious kidnappers syndicate namely; Isah Gambo, 25yrs old; Hamza Ali, 26yrs old; Ali Isyaku, 27 yrs old; Danlami Isyaku, 30yrs old; Abubakar Isyaku, 25yrs old; Adamu Alh. Lado, 30yrs old, and Usman Dan Asibi a.k.a Na Mansur 30yrs old all of Mansur and Papa Yalo villages.
According to SP Wakil, the preliminary investigation uncovered that the aforementioned suspects are the notorious kidnappers terrorizing the Alkaleri community and beyond. Raids and Searches were conducted at their various hideouts and the following calibers of prohibited firearms were recovered; One locally-made revolver pistol; One locally-made AK-47 rifle; One locally-made fabricated pistol; One locally-made pump action.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and more. A discreet Investigation has been launched after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution of the established Offences accordingly, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil said.
In another development, on Friday, 14th July 2023, one Saleh Ahmadu of Ayas village Jama’are LGA, a commercial motorcyclist reported that on Thursday, 13th July 2023, two unknown persons boarded his unregistered motorcycle from Jama’are town to Arabic Teachers College Jama’are located in an outskirt of Jama’are.
“On reaching the school, they used an iron rod to hit him on the head and snatched his motorcycle. He raised an alarm and people came to his rescue.
“In the process, the suspects abandoned the motorcycle and escaped. On receipt of the report, a team of policemen led by the DPO moved to the scene. One Munkailu Haruna ‘m’ aged 22yrs of Gandiyel village Itas Gadau LGA was arrested.
Exhibit Recovered from the suspect include; One knife, one iron Rod used in perpetrating the heinous crime, and a bag.
