The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Communication Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta has said that the various projects Commissioned under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy will eliminate poverty via skill acquisition and manpower.
Danbatta spoke at the Batch Four virtual commissioning of Twelve projects across the six geo political zones of Nigeria on Thursday, 20 August, 2020.
He further reiterated that the projects will add significant value to the digital transformation journey of the Federal Government as well as made governance open and transparent.
He said Nigerians enjoys the uses of social media than any country in Africa due to the Digital Economy pillars put in place by the Ministry.
Dambatta also said that ICT has brought about competitive and innovative economy to Nigeria and congratulated the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami on his one year in office as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Hon. Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, in his remark said that Ministry is implementing Pres Buhari’s promises to Nigerians in line with FG’ digital economy vision across the geo-political zones.
The Projects commissioned include: E-library, Federal College of Education Technical Bichi, Kano State; ICT Innovation Hub, Oyo State Trade Fair Complex, Ibadan, Oyo State; E-Accessibility Centre, Govt School for the Deaf, Malumfashi, Katsina State; Virtual Examination Centre; Digital Capacity Training Centre; School Knowledge Center (SKC); Emergency Communication Center (ECC); Enugu State College of Education (Technical),Enugu State; Elkanemi College of Islamic Theology, Yola, Adamawa State; AUD High School Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State; Emergency Communication Center, Kano, Kano State
Also, Digital Capacity Development Programme for Artisans was flagged off in Suleja, Niger State; Lautech, Oyo State; FCE, Okene, Kogi State; NIIT, Owerri, Imo State; Benchils School, Warri Delta State.
The total projects commissioned so far under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy is Thirty Five in number.
