“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else” – Les Brown

On 4th September 1964, a man with selfless service, dedication, and courage to make our world a better place was born in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun state and that man is Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

A birthday is a time when people acknowledge the anniversary of their birth.

Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, your birth was the beginning of your life. God created you to serve a purpose in this world. Your birthday is a sign that you have yet another chance to fulfill your unique purpose.

Celebrating your birth is an expression of thanks to God for allowing you to be born as well as still being alive.

I don’t have a physical birthday present to give you, but a wish that comes from the heart is worth all the presents in this world from those who love you. It truly is the thought that counts.

Why am I celebrating your birthday you may ask, well I have a few reasons namely; Your birth was your beginning; celebrating is an expression of thanks; it is an opportunity to refresh your outlook; it opens the door for new mercies; it is a chance to acknowledge your existence and it is a great opportunity to bond with people.

As you mark your birthday today, you get to experience the beauty of this earth for another 8,760 hours. You had another 525,600 minutes with loved ones, and you created more memories for 31,536,000 seconds.

The Bible says that our lives are but a vapor compared to God’s perception of time, so your birthday is no small feat. It is an annual reminder that even though this thing called life is already limited, somehow you have been blessed to keep experiencing it and that is definitely worth celebrating.

Happy birthday to the most hardworking and dedicated Inspector General of Police I know! Your commitment to serving and protecting our Nation is commendable. May this birthday be the start of an amazing year filled with success, happiness, and good health.

Your service, sacrifice, and bravery do not go unnoticed. May your birthday be filled with lots of love, laughter, and good times with family and friends.

Your kind heart, selflessness, and commitment to justice make you a true asset to our Nation. Warmest birthday wishes to a brave and honourable Inspector General of Police.

To have lived another year is an achievement. After all, you have another year’s worth of blessings to thank God for. Think of how much of God’s air you have consumed during the year. Think of how many nights God allowed you to lie down and sleep and how many mornings He awakened you with brand-new mercies.

I will end this dedication with the Holy Book; Lamentations 3:22–23. “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
