Abdulhafiz Umar Barau Commends Tinubu’s UAE Diplomatic Deal

A renowned businessman, Abdulhafiz Umar Barau, has President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the various deals sealed with the United Arab Emirates.

Abdulhafiz Umar Barau, a Diaspora businessman, further said that the immediate lifting of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travellers by the UAE is a win-win for both countries.

In an exclusive interview with Swift Reporters, Barau said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has laid a robust foundation for substantial investments in various sectors in Nigeria with his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday had a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, where both leaders discussed building bridges and fostering friendship, and many resolutions were reached.

They include the immediate lifting of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travellers by the UAE; the Resumption of flight schedules into and out of Nigeria by Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines, without any immediate payment required from the Nigerian government; An agreed framework for new investments worth several billions of U.S. dollars into the Nigerian economy by the UAE government, covering multiple sectors including defence and agriculture; A new joint foreign exchange liquidity programme between Nigeria and the UAE, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks, and a commitment to normalise and enhance the relations between the two countries, fostered by the collaboration between myself and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
