The Association for Students’ Social Welfare Nigeria (ASSW) has expressed its enthusiasm regarding the recent announcement of the World Food Programme’s (WFP) commitment to fighting hunger in Nigeria with an impressive investment of $2.5 billion over the next five years. We view this initiative as a significant stride towards the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger.
Mr. Victor Adetolaju, Founder, of the Association for Students Social Welfare Nigeria (ASSW) in a statement on Tuesday said that over the past six years, ASSW has tirelessly worked to eradicate hunger among Nigerian students, aligning our efforts with SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Through various food security programs and collaborations, we have made commendable progress in ensuring that students across the nation have access to nutritious meals, thereby promoting their overall well-being and educational success.
“We are particularly pleased to note that 2.1 million beneficiaries have already been captured under this groundbreaking program, which aligns perfectly with our mission to alleviate hunger. ASSW commends the dedication of the World Food Programme and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in their commitment to this noble cause.
