The Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, was reportedly attacked by gunmen early on Wednesday, frightening the locals of Yola.
According to the Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the attack but said things were under control.
Nguroje said, “The attack was repelled, but the identities of those behind it were unknown.”
This media was informed by an anonymous source that armed military personnel carrying out a retaliation mission after one of their own was slain by a police officer were behind the incident.
No official, not even the commissioner of police, was reported to have escaped the retaliatory shootings by the Men of Nigeria Army 23 Brigade in Yola, according to the anonymous source.
The PPRO however said they are yet to confirm who are the real attackers of the command promised to come up with an update as soon as he gets the details.
