On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Nigerian Navy flagged off a free medical rhapsody to the people of Bakassi LGA in Cross River State.
This was organized by the Nigerian Navy Ship Victory in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital in Calabar.
The leader of the team, Cdre VB Gbaranwi, Comd Nigerian Navy Ship VICTORY Calabar, was accompanied by the Comd Nigeria Navy Reference Hospital Calabar, Capt. DI Adebayo, and other officers’ ratings and civilian staff of both units to the host community.
This was part of the events marking the Nigerian Navy’s end-of-year activities in the Calabar Area.
This was also done to improve the relationship between the Nigerian Navy and the good people of Cross River State.
During the event, free medical consultations such as blood checks, diabetes screening, eye tests, dental checks, and malaria treatment were conducted.
Others were health talks on hypertension and the distribution of medications and mosquito nets, among other medical consumables.
