Defending Champions and bookmakers’ favourites, the NNPC Ltd. has sustained its winning streak in the ongoing 2024 Nigeria Oil & Gas Industry Games (NOGIG), following a 3-nil thrashing of Shell Nigeria in its second match of the tournament in Port Harcourt yesterday.
In a thrilling encounter played at the Shell Residential Football Pitch on Wednesday, NNPC Ltd.’s goals came through Aliyu Mu’azu, Orajekwe Wisdom and an own goal from a Shell defender.
Wednesday’s victory was NNPC Ltd.’s second of the tournament, having defeated the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in the first game on Monday through Aliyu Abubakar’s lone strike.
The NNPC Ltd. will now take on TotalEnergies on Friday, March 1, 2024, in a quarter-final encounter that promises fireworks between two of the most attack-minded sides in the tournament.
