….Recovers Four AK-47 Rifles and 219 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
Police operatives at Nnobi, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State, in the early hours of Tuesday 12th March 2024, while on patrol with Vigilante men in Awka Etiti engaged insurgents operating with a Toyota Highlander in a shootout.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that one of the insurgents was arrested with a gunshot.
Four AK-47 Rifles and 219 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered.
Recall that the Anambra State Joint Security Force last month burst an insurgents’ camp in Achalla, the headquarters of Awka North Local Government Area of the state.
The hugely successful operation led to the recovery of five exotic vehicles previously snatched at gunpoint. Also recovered were over 300 rounds of machine gun ammunition and 34 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition for AK-47 rifles.
