IGP Egbetokun Discusses Innovative Policies With Former IGPs

The committee of former IGPs was hosted by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Abuja. This was done in accordance with the vision and inclusivity policy of the current leadership of the Force.

The goal of the discussion was to strengthen the groundwork for efficient police in Nigeria by facilitating a meaningful dialogue.

At the meeting, a thorough exchange of ideas was encouraged, with particular emphasis on the insightful observations made by former IGPs who provided insightful stories about their tenure and the advancement of law enforcement techniques.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, gave a welcome speech in which he recognised the great contributions made by the previous IGPs, who are the titans of law enforcement.

He emphasised that their terms laid strong foundations for the NPF and that each of them had a crucial role to play in reforming the Nigeria Police Force to bring it up to par with its counterparts worldwide.

The past IGPs seized the opportunity to address and share their experiences with the members of the Force management team, AIGs, CPs, and other senior officers working within the Force Headquarters.

The past IGPs that were present included IGP Aliyu Attah (Rtd); IGP Sunday Ehindero (Rtd); IGP Mike Okiro (Rtd); IGP Mohammed Abubakar (Rtd); and the 21st Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman (Rtd).
