The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Zone 7 HQ, Abuja, AIG Benneth Igwehp represented the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun at the Road Safety Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims, where he partook in a joint press conference and laying of wreath, which took place at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a press release sigmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, DSP M.B Abdulkadir, the AIG talked about the IGP’s aim to establish emergency and ambulance services centres on highways, enforcement of speed limits, road worthiness with the help of CCTV and drones services to help cater for crash victims to reduce deaths on our roads.
He further advocates for the abolishment of night travels and also subsumed into advicing motorists to embrace the safer highway as lives have no duplicates.
