The Toto LG Chairman, Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya, has presented N5.12,500,000.00 billion as a budgetary estimate for the 2025 fiscal year to the local government legislative for consideration and approval.
The Executive Chairman presented the 2025 budget shortly after delivering his address to local assembly lawmakers at the Local Government legislative chamber today, Monday, 30th 2024
He said the 2025 budget, tagged “Budget of Redemption,” will be implemented to achieve sustainable economic growth and accelerate the infrastructure development, healthcare, and education of the local government while improving the living standards of all residents
He assured the people of a pragmatic leadership style and appealed to the house for support and cooperation with the executive for the actualization of the shared aspiration of a modern and greater Toto local government area.
The executive chairman of the Toto Local Government Council Hon Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya has reaffirmed his government determination to lead the local government council with honesty, prudence and accountability brazing up for the great challenges ahead in terms of service provision to the citizenry.
He said the budget of “Redemption” will be financed through Internal Revenue Generation with an estimated internally generated Revenue of N43 million for the year, statutory allocation from the Federal federal government of about N2.5 billion and Value tax of about N1.9 billion estimated to be accruing to the local government council.
The chairman further stated that out of the budget, over N800 million is for personnel costs, over N1.1 billion for capital expenditures and over 3 billion Naira go into infrastructural development, welfare and other human capital development accordingly.
Pharm Ahmed Yahaya pledges his administration’s commitment to a pragmatic leadership style where people-oriented policies and programs will be the guiding principles of the administration, providing standard infrastructure like never before for the betterment of the Toto local government area.
On the security of the area Pharm Yahaya expressed his optimism that, once all categories of people vis-à-vis the local security apparatus, traditional Rulers and, of course, security agents are carried along in the schemes or businesses of governance collectively, the local government will secure a peaceful atmosphere where investors can come for their businesses.
He said every segment is a tool for actualising a mission for a better Toto local government.
Pharm Yahaya thanked the legislatures for urgently calling off their recess for the sake of the budget and appealed for expedient passage of the budget, which will be a working tool in the 2025 fiscal year.
In his acceptance speech, the Rt. Hon Speaker TLG legislative council Hon Abdullahi Abdulhameed Ayizimazi eulogies the transparent leadership style of the chairman and appreciates the calibres of personalities who accompanied the chairman to the chamber.
The speaker promised the legislative readiness for a speedy passage of the budget, and their collective resolution was to cooperate and support the executive for the overall development of the local government area.
