While addressing the media on Wednesday, 22nd January, 2024 at the FID-IRT headquarters, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that the Police were also able to recover 56 stolen vehicles and rescue 22 victims of kidnapping across the country.

“The operatives of the Nigeria Police Force highlighted several outstanding achievements including the arrest of Muhammed Kabir ‘m’ 36 years old, and other members of his gang including Donald Okpere ‘m’, and Haruna Ibrahim ‘m’. The gang operates by impersonating military personnel and defrauding victims of millions of naira, using fake alerts after purchasing gadgets and medical equipment, Adejobi said.

He went further to say that in addition, the operatives arrested Sunday Okwo Ade, Monday Solomon, David Emmanuel, and Shakiru Badmus who are part of a well-known gang that specializes in stealing motorcycles from farmers in various communities in Lagos and Ogun States. 15 motorcycles were recovered from this gang.

The commitment of the Force to uphold the fundamental tenets of policing—the protection of the lives and property of the general public and the establishment of an environment that permits the public to carry out their daily activities in peace—has been reiterated by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.

Adejobi added that the Force will not back down from its efforts to apprehend criminal elements and guarantee that justice is administered when it is due and proper, in accordance with the provisions of our nation’s current laws.
