The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has extended warm Easter greetings to all Christians in the state, urging them to celebrate in reverence of Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection remain the cornerstone of the season.
According to a press release on Thursday, April 17, 2025, signed by the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, he describes Easter as a time of love, sacrifice, and renewed faith and calls on all residents to promote peace, compassion, and goodwill during the festivities.
CP Shetima further assures residents of the Command’s steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state throughout the Easter period.
To this end, the Command has deployed extensive security resources—both human and material—across all 13 local government areas. These strategic deployments are designed to create a peaceful, secure, and fear-free environment during the celebrations.
High-visibility policing operations are currently underway, with officers positioned at key locations including churches, event centres, motor parks, major highways, recreational spots, and other identified vulnerable points. Personnel will conduct intensive foot and vehicular patrols, supported by intelligence-driven strategies. All officers have been instructed to conduct their duties with professionalism, civility, and respect for human rights.
